River, fishery or simply off the coast

The river Ythan can be fished by permit for trout and salmon. The Methlick beats run past Goukstone and can be walked to from the croft.

There are a number of fisheries located close by including  Lochter which offers a large number of well stocked ponds and the staff can provide lessons and instruction. 

Located only 30 minutes from the towns of Newburgh, Collieston or Cruden Bay to the east and the Banff coast to the north, there are numerous shore and pier fishing opportunities along both coastlines. These spots are popular for a number of fish including cod, wrasse, flat fish and mackerel depending on the season.
